This is an incredible opportunity to be part of a small group of just fourteen people – who will have private access to some of the major ancient Egyptian temples, including inside the Great Pyramid of Giza, and the Temple of Isis on New Years Day!

For 14-days you will experience this exclusive, private tour of the most sacred sites of Ancient Egypt on the most amazing spiritual journey of your life!

December 29, 2022 - january 11, 2023

As the break of dawn starts to greet you, the fist rays of (Ra), the sun, lights up the Sphinx as it has for thousands of years. You take a moment of silence to feel into this observance as you are being welcomed by the warmth of Ra. This ancient  wonder changes into pink tones during your opening ceremony, as you are fondly nestled between the paws of the sphinx as part of your first of three, private VIP visits of some of the main sacred sites during this once in a lifetime pilgrimage.

You top off this awe-inspiring experience with a fun filled camel ride adventure exploring the Giza Plateau. Kicking up some dust from this desertlike landscape that adds to your desire of experiencing something of an exotic nature. It feels like time does not exist and you are only now able to step away from all the mundane troubles that have occupied your mental space and swap it with truly an unforgettable experience.

A camel ride in front of the Pyramids lends itself to a very ancient experience
A camel greets you with their smile and you may wonder, why do Camels always Smile? There goes a theory that this is a ' all knowing Smile", that hey know something we don't! In Islam Allah goes by 99 names and only camels are meant to know the 100th name.

"waking up to the sounds of Egypt...something so breathtaking to behold..."
During your morning preparation, as you rise to greet a temple or sacred site at its most "ripe" time to experience the abundant energy, you are serenaded by the call to prayer at 5am.  A sound that the temples and all of Egypt echos five times per day. Healing frequencies and mantras to Allah and all that God is. Embodying the sacredness of Egypt. The ways in which Egypt has embraced and holds all religious and spiritual customs of the past and the present. A country united, where Islam and Christianity co-exists in peace and harmony for all to delight in and an example to the world.

Egypt is a symphony of sounds. Imprints molded in these architectural masterpieces. Temples that comes alive with sound, even more so when you are silent, you can hear it's teachings and wisdom.
You approach these temples with the type of reverence they deserve, asking not what it can give you but what you can give back to these wonders.
These frequencies are integrated within the sound baths you will enjoy during mediation journeys as part of your circle time on our floating temple home, the Afandina.

"Sailing along the Nile, walking in the footsteps of History..."
For eight nights you are sailing upon the Nile, temple to temple, on a private 5 star Dahabiya. Feeling  like a queen or Pharaoh. The Afandina, your home away from home is a replica of the ancient sailing vessels.  whose amenities include a personal chef and a generous, hospitable crew that can satisfy our every travel need.

The rooms have been ergonomically designed for maximum utility and comfort. While the ‘Afandina’ will have the best that modern technology allows, the ancient ways and traditions will also be respected, such as using lanterns in the evenings for dinners on the open deck, and obtaining fresh food organically grown, and cooked and baked in the traditional manner.

‘Afandina’ will also be equipped with a library with books on ancient and modern Egypt, as well as a mini planetarium with astronomical software and a telescope for stargazing at night in the crystal clear skies of Upper Egypt.

Egypt Cuisene

Egyptian cuisine has evolved over thousands of years, with many of the civilizations that have passed through the region leaving some kind of mark on the food eaten within Egypt.
Greek, Lebanese, Palestinian Syrian, Turkish, British and French culinary influces can all be found in modern Egyptian food across a wide range of dishes, and there are also many similarities with Eastern Mediterranean cusine.
There are also noticeable differences between the typical food consumed in the north and the south of the country, with the northern coastal areas particularly full of seafood and fish-based dishes, while the southern regions tend to be more influenced by spicy North African cuisine.
With so much variety, it can often be a huge task deciding what to eat in Egypt. This complete guide will help you learn about the kinds of food travelers can expect to encounter, the safest food to eat in Egypt, and what not to eat.

This pilgrimage is really resonating with me!

MAIN ATTRACTIONS
sphinx

A sphinx is a mythical creature with the head of a human and the body of a lion with the wings of a falcon. In Greek tradition, the sphinx has the head of a woman, the haunches of a lion, and the wings of a bird. She is mythicized as treacherous and merciless, and will kill and eat those who cannot answer her riddle.

philae

Philae is an island in the reservoir of the Aswan Low Dam, downstream of the Aswan Dam and Lake Nasser, Egypt. Philae was originally located near the expansive First Cataract of the Nile in Upper Egypt and was the site of an Egyptian temple complex.

DAY 1: DEC 29 ARRIVAL IN CAIRO
Arrive in Cairo. Check-in to the exquisite Mena House Hotel, located adjacent to the Giza Plateau. Relax into your new surroundings, enjoying the luscious beauty of this city oasis. We will begin with an opening circle and dinner to initiate our group journey together on this Sacred Pilgrimage of remembrance and magic.
(We recommend that if possible, you arrive a day early to allow yourself time to acclimate before we begin.)

Pre-dawn we are escorted to the Giza Plateau for a private ceremony and meditation between the paws of the Sphinx, also known as the Earth's Altar. In the afternoon we will drive into the countryside to visit the tombs and shrines of the oldest Egyptian Pyramid at Sakkara. We will also experience the mysterious chambers of the Serapeum and its underground passageways filled with 24 granite sarcophagi weighing 70 tons each, as well as the newly opened Step Pyramid. We will then have a late lunch (instead of dinner) on the Sakkara Road.

your guides

I am answering my calling as a Neter Medicine Woman and Priestess in leading groups to Egypt. It was my own deep connection and remembrance of Egypt that led me on a path of initiation into the mysteries of the Egyptian Pantheon. I serve as a conduit, gatekeeper and guide for the mysteries to be remembered and integrated. For the past 16 years, I have practiced the healing arts as a Naturopathic Doctor, Medical Herbalist, Sound Healer, and regularly present as a Keynote Speaker on "psychoacoustics" in the medical community and internationally. Additionally, I lead workshops and explorations of the Egyptian Mysteries. It brings me so much joy and fulfillment to facilitate a Sound Journey Through Ancient Egypt, where each temple was built with a specific healing frequency in mind that comes alive through Sacred Ceremony.

My transformational mentoring (one-on-one and group) includes: Sekhem healing, shadow and inner child work, and the embodiment of the divine through archetypal and Egyptian Mythological exploration. I create a safe container for you to unfold and reclaim your power and freedom from limiting beliefs and energetic blocks. I am blessed to have studied Egyptian Mythology, the Ma’at and Osirian mysteries, and have been initiated in various shamanic and priestess lineages. My gifted teachers include Jane Bell, Nicki Scully, Indigo Ronlov, Jill Alexander, Leigh Higgins, Brian McGuire, David Gibson, and Roger Ansanelli, Racheal Alia, Joanne Ameya. I return yearly to Egypt to deepen with the Neteru, and to pay homage to Sekhmet who has completely transformed my life.

Frequently asked questions

Egypt Culture

WHAT LANGUAGE IS SPOKEN IN EGYPT?
Egyptian Arabic is the official and most widely spoken language in Egypt. English is taught in schools and is considered a secondary language that is most commonly used for tourism purposes.
RE THERE ANY SPECIAL CUSTOMS I SHOULD OBSERVE?
Yes, most Egyptian customs differ from the Western customs due to the cultural and religious differences, as shown below:
1. Most women in Egypt behave conservatively with strangers.
2. Normal contact is quite acceptable, but intimate actions in the public such as kissing and fondling may irritate most Muslims.
3. Most mosques require visitors to remove their shoes before entering.
4. Use the right hand to eat and give gifts.
5. It is inappropriate to discuss religions with Egyptians from an atheistic or similar perspective.
6. It is inapt to take photos of soldiers, tanks or any other military property.
HOW WELCOMING IS EGYPT TO LGBTQ TRAVELLERS?
Egypt is not as accepting of LGBTQ rights as some other nations in Africa. Conservative beliefs still prevail, and homosexual acts and gender diversity, while not technically illegal, are prosecuted under more ambiguous laws. Police crackdowns and entrapments have been reported. All visitors should maintain an understanding of cultural sensitivity regarding the issue. Regardless of orientation, discretion should be practiced in sites of antiquity as well as during day-to-day touring.

Egypt travel

DO I NEED A VISA AND PASSPORT TO TRAVEL TO EGYPT?
Citizens of countries in North America are required to obtain a visa prior to entry. Typically a renewable 30 day visa will be issued. Obtaining the visa upon arrival at Cairo International Airport is also possible. A valid passport is mandatory. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the date you expect to leave Egypt.
WHAT CURRENCY IS USED IN EGYPT?
The official currency of Egypt is the Egyptian Pound. Credit cards are accepted at most hotels, restaurants and upscale shops. There are also ATMs available at hotels and outside major banks dispensing local currency.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO TRAVEL TO EGYPT?
The best time to visit Egypt would be during the winter months, from October to April. The temperatures are mild and pleasant, although evenings can become quite cool. December through January are the peak tourist months so expect large crowds if travelling at this time. The best time to enjoy the beaches, without having to endure the large crowds of summer tourists, would be from March to May. Temperatures at this time are warm and tourist sites are not too crowded.
IS THERE TRANSPORTATION WITHIN EGYPT?
Trains, buses, and taxis are the most common ways for tourists to travel between the cities in Egypt. There are also self-drive cars available that can be organized through your travel professional. Small or private tours are conducted in vans, sedans, and tourism vehicles.
IS EGYPT SAFE TO VISIT?
Tourism is the primary source of revenue for the Egyptian economy, therefore the government has taken exceptional steps to ensure safety and security for tourists. Egyptian cities are generally very safe and frequently patrolled by police and military, especially at airports and in any area where tourists frequent (such as the Red Sea resort towns of El Gouna and Hurghada). Egyptians have a well-earned reputation for warmth and kindness, and hold no negative feelings toward foreign visitors. Tourism numbers dipped considerably after the 2011 Revolution, but now, as the political and economic situations have stabilized, tourism numbers have rebounded as visitors have happily and safely returned to Egypt to experience this magnificent country and all of its incredible wonders.
While its security situation is frequently exaggerated by many media, Egypt is generally a safe country to travel. Most areas are considered as relatively safe, except North Sinai Governorate being generally at a higher risk level. Checkpoints are erected across several regions to ensure the safety of tourists. As for muggings, robberies, and other casual crimes, Egypt is also quite safe. You can find it is safe to walk the streets at night when most Egyptians start social activities and cities come alive. Most restaurants and cafés are open late into the night. The majority of Egyptian people are courteous and friendly to tourists.

Though traveling Egypt is quite safe, you cannot be too careful as for personal security. Planning your trip with a reputable tour operator can be a wise choice, as they know the updated security situations and thus customize your itinerary accordingly.
WHAT VACCINATIONS ARE REQUIRED OR SUGGESTED FOR TRAVEL TO EGYPT?
There are no compulsory vaccinations required for Egypt, however, we recommend you consult with your local travel clinic for the most up-to-date recommendations, particularly in regards to malaria prophylactics. Proof of yellow fever vaccination is required if you are coming from or have transited through an airport of a country where yellow fever occurs. Proof of vaccination is also required for travellers coming from or having transited through Eritrea, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania, and Zambia.
DO I NEED TO TAKE ANTI-MALARIA TABLETS/INJECTIONS?
NO!! Malaria has not been in Egypt for well over 85 years and there is no need for any type of anti-malaria medication. To be honest, it is quite the obverse as any types of anti-malaria medication can actually cause side effects that will simply ruin your holiday. Just because Egypt is in Africa does not mean malaria is here as well.
CAN I BRING PRESCRIBED MEDICATION WITH MEDS?
Yes, but please ensure that you only bring enough for your stay, with just a few day’s extra supplies as a backup. It would also help if you could bring the prescription as well, as proof, or for topping up (there are many pharmacies in Egypt that can do this for you). If you happen to be traveling onwards from Egypt, and so have a lot more of your prescribed medicine with you, please ensure that you do have the prescription as proof.
IS IT SAFE TO DRINK THE WATER IN EGYPT?
Yes, but not advised! Egyptian water has a high chlorine level in it which can upset the microbes in your stomach, causing diarrhea. For drinking purposes it is far safer to stick with bottled water, ensuring the seal is intact before drinking it.
IS IT SAFE TO BRUSH MY TEETH WITH TAP WATER?
Egyptian water is highly chlorinated, not poisonous, and so it is perfectly safe to do this. You often swallow small amounts of water whilst in the shower, or swimming, and this causes no problems, so why should clean your teeth?
IS EGYPT A FAMILY-FRIENDLY DESTINATION?
Egypt is most definitely a good place to visit on a family vacation. It offers a number of museums where you can view ancient Egyptian artifacts and many more pieces representative of Egyptian history. Ancient tombs, temples, and pyramids are generally accessible to all ages. If looking to relax, Egypt also offers a number of beaches, ideal for rounding off your Egypt family vacation.
WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE IN EGYPT?
Generally, Egypt has a desert climate, but the Mediterranean coastal areas enjoy a moderate temperature thanks to the prevailing wind. The climate features a hot season from May to October and a cool season from October to May. In the hot season, it is dry and hot in most parts of the country, and humid in the Nile Delta and Mediterranean coastal areas. So sun protection is the most important consideration for this season, especially for the fair-skinned. Pure cotton clothes and sunhats are essential. In the cool season, the weather is mild with some rain; it is bright and sunny in most days but usually cold in nights.
The most humid area lies along the Mediterranean coast. The precipitation declines sharply from north to south. It may rain once in a few years in many desert areas.
WHAT TYPES OF CLOTHING ARE RECOMMENDED FOR TRAVELING IN EGYPT?
Egypt is a Muslim country and visitors should, as with any foreign country, make an effort to be respectful of the country’s customs and culture. There are many touristic Red Sea areas in Egypt, such as El Gouna and Hurghada, where clothing concerns are not necessary—in these areas you can wear any sort of beach attire you want. At other inland tourist areas, such as Cairo or Luxor, however, relatively conservative attire is recommended as Egyptians generally dress more modestly than in many parts of Europe and North America. Women especially should avoid tight clothing and revealing necklines, and keep their shoulders and knees covered. Men should avoid wearing shorts anywhere outside of Red Sea tourist areas. In general, in order to be respectful of local customs in Egypt, when visiting the sites of Luxor or Cairo, it’s best to wear loose-fitting pants and long-sleeve shirts.
CAN I TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS INSIDE THE TOMBS?
No, photography inside tombs, including the pyramids and Abu Simbel, is strictly forbidden, which has led to all cameras being banned from the Valley of the Kings (you have to leave all cameras at the x-ray point at the second entrance). Excessive flash damages the paintwork inside the tombs and so, because of people who ignore the rules, draconian measures have been implemented to safeguard these ancient works of art. The simple rule of thumb when visiting sites is: no cameras inside, cameras are okay outside.
IS TIPPING COMMON IN EGYPT?
As with most European and North American countries, tipping is graciously accepted in Egypt. A 10% tip at restaurants and to guides and drivers is standard. Unfortunately, at major tourist sites like the Pyramids of Giza or the tombs of the Valley of the Kings, touts aggressively hustle for tips by allowing you to take photos in areas where it’s clearly posted as prohibited (such as inside the tombs). Please refrain from perpetuating this problem by not paying to take pictures.
WHAT ELECTRICAL PLUGS AND VOLTAGE ARE USED IN EGYPT?
Egypt has a voltage supply of 220V and the plugs are the 2-round pin type that are common throughout Europe.
IS ALCOHOL AVAILABLE IN EGPYT?
Egypt is a Muslim country, therefore alcohol is not readily available outside of tourist areas and western-style hotels/resorts.
